In our class, we will follow the school-wide test re-taking policy. Any student who receives a grade of 70 or lower is able to take a re-assessment. In order for a student to complete this re-assessment, they MUST:
- review your graded test and identify areas you need to improve your understanding
- fill out the Request to Retest form and submit to Mrs. Tvrdik
- I will inform you of the day after school that will be designated for retesting
Please refer to the Frank Antonides Test Retaking Policy here:
-
Retakes are intended for summative assessments (tests, major projects).
-
All retakes must be completed within 7 days of the original assignment
-
Students who are caught cheating, refuse an assessment, or mark random answers (as determined by the teacher and principal) are not eligible for retakes.
-
Students must satisfy any remediation (ex. tutoring, study guides, reflection form) required by the teacher before sitting for the retake.
-
Retakes cannot take place during class time. Students must arrange a time with their teacher Teachers have discretion to give retakes in class for extenuating circumstances.
-
Teachers may set a limit on retakes for a specific assessment.
-
Students may not retake an assessment on which they received a 70 or better
-
The students final assessment grade will be an average of all of the grades for that assessment (Not inclusive of classes where students choose when to assess).
-
Alternate assignments may be required at the teacher’s discretion, provided they cover the same content / standards (ex. presentation, formal essay)
-
The retake must cover the same concepts, content, and standards but it does not have to be the same assessment
