Mr. Farrell joined West Long Branch School District as Superintendent in April of 2013. He is the Shared Regional Superintendent of Schools for the West Long Branch and Shore Regional School Districts. He serves on the Monmouth County Superintendents' Roundtable and was selected as a member of the Executive Committee in 2018. An NJASA and AASA member since 2013, Mr. Farrell also serves as a member of the state Technology Committee (representing Monmouth County). Previously he served as Principal of New Egypt High School in the Plumsted Township School District. He began his career as a business education teacher in New Egypt High School, became Assistant Principal of New Egypt Middle School, and was appointed Principal of New Egypt High School in 2008. During the 2006-2007 school year, he served in the capacity of District Director of Technology & Communications. Prior to Plumsted, Mr. Farrell was an Assistant Athletic Director, Business Education Teacher, and coach at Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River.
Mr. Farrell also served as an adjunct professor at Ocean County College. He brings a wealth of practical business experience from his years in the corporate world. Mr. Farrell is currently matriculating in a doctor of education program in leadership at Monmouth University and expects to graduate in August 2019. He has earned an M.B.A. from Monmouth University and a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.
